- Programs & Events – Work on setup of programs and events for the membership and general public; work on increasing attendance; plan member appreciation events.
- Marketing & Public Relations – Help with publicity of our events; implement ways to improve attendance; create locally targeted marketing for each museum to neighbors and friends.
- Membership – Assist with member recruitment & retainment, utilize our computer system for membership dues, donations and membership currency; survey member interests and present findings; track volunteer hours and appreciation events; send out welcome letters for new memberships and thank you letters for donations.
- Technology – Work on digital archive search enhancement; explore use of technology in presentations, programs and museum interfaces (such as QR codes for museum interfaces); cleanup of our archives to ensure search results are solid.
- Curator – Assist our curator with the myriad of donations and inventory that needs to be vetted, presented to the Accession Committee, cataloged and archived into our Past Perfect computer system.
- Archivist – Work with our museum software (Past Perfect) for inventory of museum contents; archiving of historic documents, photos and books at each of our 3 museums and the West Dennis Library; some of this work can be done at home after appropriate training.
- Docent – Work as a docent 1-2 days per week at one of our 3 museums (Summers only, June–August and occasional programs and events during the year). Each museum will have training available:
Josiah Dennis Manse (1700’s) – Whig St. Dennis Village
Jericho Historical Center (1800’s) – Old Main Street, South Dennis
West Dennis Graded School & Maritime Museum (1900’s) – School St, West Dennis
- House & Grounds – Helping hands are always needed at each of our museums to assist with event setup and take down, grounds maintenance, gardening, handyman, clean-up etc.
